Marking the 65th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Pakistan, the CPEC Media Forum gathered for its second convention at Beijing on Friday, May 20th, 2016. Hosted by the Embassy of China in Pakistan, and collaboratively organized by China Economic Net, and Pakistan-China Institute, the forum discussed ‘Deepening Media Cooperation: Establishing an Information Platform for CPEC’.
Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed, the Chairman of CPEC Parliamentary Committee of Pakistan, and Lin Chuxue, the Executive Vice President of the China Three Gorges Corporation (CTGC) attended the event.
The forum discussed the establishment of an official information platform on CPEC that would facilitate the people and institutions of both countries in staying acquainted with project’s progress. Suggestions from participants to make the information platform beneficial for all stakeholders including students, investors, media, and other institutions were well received and committed to be acted upon.
Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed, who is also the Chairman of Pakistan-China Institute, addressed the gathering and laid out his ideas for deepening cooperation between China and Pakistan by catalyzing bilateral exchange among political, economic, and media institutions. He shed light upon the on-ground progress made by various projects under CPEC since the 1st CPEC Media Forum that was held in Islamabad last year.
