CPEC: China to assist Pakistan in capacity building of CAFs

The successful implementation of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Project (CPEC) has assured Islamabad to fully assist Pakistan in building the capacity of civil armed forces for the purpose of ensuring full security of the project aimed at building connectivity within the region. The assurance was given by Chinese Ambassador Sun Weidong to Pakistan during a meeting with Interior Minister, Ahsan Iqbal. The Chinese envoy also expressed satisfaction over the arrangements put in place by Pakistan for the security of Chinese nationals deployed at various CPEC related projects.

Islamabad: Whilst both Pakistan and China are keeping close interaction for the early and successful implementation of China Pakistan Economic Corridor Project (CPEC), Beijing has assured Islamabad to fully assist Pakistan in building the capacity of civil armed forces for the purpose of ensuring full security of the multi billion dollars project aimed at building connectivity within the region. The assurance was given by Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Sun Weidong during a meeting with Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal.

The Chinese envoy also expressed satisfaction over the arrangements put in place by Pakistan for the security of Chinese nationals deployed at various CPEC related projects.

The two sides discussed matters pertaining to training of law enforcement agencies on modern lines and sharing of information and intelligence. In his remarks, the Interior Minister said both Pakistan and China should foil the conspiracies of enemies against the mega project. “CPEC is a symbol of longstanding Pak-China relations, Ahsan Iqbal added. The interior minister said both Pakistan and China exemplary relations are based on goodwill as well as strong economic and defence relations.

Ahsan Iqbal noted that Balochistan holds special significance vis-à-vis the CPEC. Keeping in view the security situation, FC Balochistan has been divided into north and south zones.
